Where did the bus come from?

I guess there are many questions one could ask about Chris and in particular The Bus.

Quite an amazing read.

My question could be answered already by someone, and perhaps I need to read through some of the
details from this site.

If the area is difficult to get into, how did the bus get there in the first place. Who put the bus there?

How often was the bus used before Chris moved in?

Who originally owned the bus?

Regards,
Shaz.

Check out this link:

The bus was originally put there by the company constructing the road to the Stampede Mine.

Erik, you've said that Bus 142 was originally intended to be removed, but it broke an axle and had to be left behind. The other three buses WERE taken out. As for how often it was used, maybe a dozen times a year is my understanding, and then only for a couple nights at a time. Chris is the only person I'm aware of to have LIVED there for any length of time.

True. When it was being used by the construction company, it was not in its present location, but presumably further out Stampede Trail/Road. If you wanted to know more about where exactly it was located when her family lived in it you could probably contact Mickey and ask.

There are way more than a dozen people a year camping in the bus now. I have no idea just how many, but I hear from more than a dozen a year that say they've stayed there. If I had to take a guess, and this is just a wild ass somewhat educated guess and nothing more, I'd guess 40 to 60 a year. Mike Kramer stayed in the bus for a couple weeks here less than a month ago. He's the only one I'm aware of that's spent that long a period in the bus since Chris, but I would venture to guess there have been others as well.
