Now that Fairbanks 142 aka "Magic Bus" has been removed-

What can be done to compile historical photographs and videos of the bus and the surrounding area...so that they can be downloaded and kept for posterity?

I would think it would be good to find photographs back to 1992 before damage to the bus. Also would be good to find photographs of what was in the bus with McCandless - including his graffiti before everyone signed on. Maybe a call for photos that hunters may have snapped on the disposable Kodak cameras of the 90s?

It would even be neat to have a virtual visit including a photo or video slideshow leading up the stampede trail to the bus and its surroundings.

@happiness_real ,

Carine and a team of folks including myself have organized "Friends of Bus 142" a non-profit dedicated to preserving and protecting Bus 142.

As of right now it looks like it is likely headed to the University of Alaska Fairbanks's Museum of the North.

As part of this effort we are building a community page that includes a collage page of everyone who shares a photo with us of them at Bus 142 on the Stampede Trail.

This page will be public in the next few weeks, but right now if you or someone you know has a photo of them at the bus and you would like to share it, email it to info@friendsofbus142.com along with the date you were there and your name.
