I can't say exactly why Chris choose Alaska but If I talk about myself then I must say I love this region due to its cold temperature.
I love to go there in winter season to see snow everywhere around me. "wbhscalvert" Do you know why Chris choose Alaska?

A place he had to go, no matter where. I think not a reason behind it to go Alaska only.
