some questions

Postby toklat » Sun Mar 02, 2014 1:41 am

Hi all, a few questions.

Chris lived near Sushana river, how he did not realize that with the passage of days the level of water in the Sushana ascended river and therefore also in the Teklanika?.

Chris had been in Alaska and knew of the existence of the stampede trail, it is also assumed that the existence of Denali Park road, how not try to reach it?

Greetings.

He did realize the level of water in the Sushana and Teklanika. It says in Chapter 18, "He probably surmisted that if he bided his time until August, the Teklanika would subside enough to be crossed."(188) However, Chris was way too weak to leave.
If he'd known about the basket, crossing the Teklanika to safety could have changed his life. But he had no topographic map or a good map. There is no evidence why he didn't try once more to cross the Teklanika, when it would have been lower or safe to walk.

The first question I'm not entirely sure, but i think maybe because he didn't have a map, so therefore, he didn't know? :?: Now about the other question, he was known to be stubborn and just did whatever he wanted to do, so maybe he just did not want any help from others. He wanted to see if he could survive on his own. Thats why he would always leave his friends that he made on the way to Alaska. He just wanted to be independent and have no help from other people. Even if it meant death.
