Is getting both the book AND movie necessary?

i'm considering buying the book soon, but is it necessary to get both the book and "back to the wild" dvd? or is basically the book in video form?

I got just the book. Look for the "buy the book" link on the Back to the Wild website and follow that to Amazon where you can buy just the book. I don't have a DVD player either.

As someone who has both, I'd say it's not. I love the book more. The DVD is nice, and it's great to hear the people who are on it. But, it really is just like an audio book, in video format.
