I'm getting an into the wild tattoo, quote suggestions?

Postby Kait » Thu Jul 07, 2011 1:39 am

The only ones I have seen are "Happiness only real when shared" and "I now walk into the wild." Those don't feel right to me. Anyone know any other quotes from/related to Chris McCandless to suggest for my ink? :)

Hmm. Quotes, not sure. One I've thought about is the silhouette on the vinyl cover of the soundtrack. Although, now I'm thinking of the happiness quote. It completely suits my life
Rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness... give me truth.

Some of my favorites;

- "Not all those who wander are lost." J.R.R. Tolkien
- "To be Great is to be misunderstood." R.W. Emerson
- "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam." (Latin: I shall either find a way, or I shall make one) Hannibal
- "Rien de beau qua le vrai." (French: Nothing more beautiful than the Truth) N. Boileau

If it was me and I couldnt think of a quote off hand, I would read the book again.
Then, when something jumps out and inspires you - go for it.

Good luck.

You can try these quotes:-
“Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”

If I were you I would ask myself "what does this book mean to me". Now me personally i wouldn't get one because its just a book to me but to you it may mean a lot but if i had to get one from the book it would be "142" which is the bus number. The reason for that tattoo is that it was the final destination for the supertramp and only the people who read the book will know what it means but if it makes you happy then go for it. Just remember tattoos are permanent and last a life time so tattoos should mean something to you. Also ask yourself " Has this book changed my life?" and if it has then go for the tattoo, always ask yourself these questions if you want to get a tattoo.
