estranged relationship with parents

I saw the PBS documentary the other night, and it haunts me. I have a son who has chosen to cut ties with me. I always hope there is a chance that we will reunite and have a chance at a relationship. As far as I know, we were very close before he met and married the mother of his children (my grandchildren). I missed the beginning about why he was so angry at his parents. What could a person do that would cause them to have no contact with their parents? I found it so sad that he died so young and that his parents never had the chance to make amends.

Hi gingersue!

You can find the answers to your questions regarding CM's reasons in the new book written by his sister: Carine McCandless: The wild truth
I just hope there's no such things going on in your own family.

The only difference between our son Jack and CM, is that he had a very close relationship with everyone in his family. Please see: www.findjackmcatee.com.
If you go to the "About" tab, you will find a complete history of Jack's disappearance. Thanks in advance for any tips regarding Jack's location.
Sincerely,
Steve McAtee
