If I was part of his family I would have searched for him until I found him, especially if I was his parent. I would want to know that my child is safe no matter where they are

Chris Mccandless did not want to be found. Although his parents did search for him and were terribly concern. In chapter 4, they contacted with a private investigator named Peter Kalitka, who'd done contract work for both the DIA and CIA. "Kalitka launched an extremely thorough search, chasing down leads that led as far afield as Europe and South Africa."(31)
