I believe so. We all have baggage. At some point, we realize, 'Grow up...be the adult.' HOPEFULLY all of us do a little better than we remember, as kids. Perception is 'key', though. Don't all of us parents hear stuff we said as kids? Also, remembering how we felt as kids will make us better parents. Remembering how we felt at any point in life is the key to having compassion for others. And, this story of Chris McCandless speaks enormously of that compassion for others. Most in this forum have that compassion for Chris; that understanding of how we felt or now feel. I think he was smart enough to get out from under the emotional devastation he felt, and would have made a great parent.
