Did Christoper travel through canada to get to alaska or did he catch a ferry?

I would love to find some references to him travelling through Canada. I beleive in the book or the movie he said that it was tough to get a ride in the Yukon Territory. That is a shame. I wish he would have thought well of us Canadians.

If there was only some references to him visiting sites in Alberta, BC, Yukon, NWT.

yes he did travel through Canada to get to Alaska he actually went through Dawson Creek
