I have emailed everyone regarding the backround of the "real" Ron from the movie.

I know he exhisted but have been unable to find much info on him.

He is touched on in the book. I am touched by how much Chris moved 'Ron' in the book to the point he sold everything and moved into the desert when he learned of Chris's death. Ron is my favorite person Chris meet's along the way. Would love to know more about him.

Any info out there on Ron?

"Ron Franz" had actually taken Chris' advice and moved to the desert long before Chris had gone to Alaska and died. In fact, he was waiting for Chris to come back when he picked up the hikers who told him of Chris' death.

sadly, i read somewhere he has passed away. I hope his film he recorded while dropping chris off in colorado isn't lost forever.

you mean Ron /Russell actually videoed Chris when he dropped him off in col. ?

Has anybody ever seen this footage of Ron dropping off Chris? If so, could you post a link to the video? Me along with lots of other people on this forum would be interested in seeing such a film.
