They probably not only felt upset and hurt from the loss of their son but guilty for the things they put him through. If I had a child and my mistakes made him or her feel hurt, angry, unloved, ect to the point that they ran off like that id feel very guilty. I'd probably hate myself for causing that pain to my child.

When you read his sisters' testimonies about their childhood, it's clear why he left. I have personally known two other people in my life who completely severed ties with their parents. Those parents were similar to Chris's parents in that they were wealthy families who had completely bought in to the dominant paradigm of American society. One of these fathers is a multimillionaire and extremely influential philanthropist. He spent years trying to get his son back, but learned that this was something he could not purchase. Still, the parents are human; and you can see that they are indeed in pain.

I move them in a V shape. My cities do not get much bigger than that and when they do I have specialist. 3-4 spaces apart most of the time.
