I ordered mine on Monday. I should have it by Friday. So can't wait!

That appears to be correct... at least for right now.

Actually amazon told me bullshit by mentioning August 17 as delivery date, the book arrived here yesterday, July 15! :D
I'm really excited and fascinated, however a bit disappointed by the quality (the pages are all loose, thus not correctly bound or rather not at all, and I already found some mistakes in the content, like on page 235: day 107 was NOT August 8 if day 113 was August 18... ;) ).
But all in all - I only had several closer looks at it so far, but haven't read the whole stuff yet - I really like it, especially Chris's original writings, of course, above all the complete notes he wrote in Alaska.

It took me a while to realize this: Lots of original letters and postcards, the whole page of notes he took in Alaska (both really great stuff!), but not a single quote of the journal he wrote during the 2 years of traveling, the one he had left with Wayne. Can't be a copyright thing, because parts had already been published in the book by Krakauer, so why don't we see anything in the new book supposed to contain "the photographs and WRITINGS of Christopher McCandless"?
