Re: New DVD trailers.

Really looking forward to the new "Back To The Wild" DVD. I know it's supposed to be released soon. Anyone know an exact release date? I've also been enjoying reading and looking at the pictures Chris took in the "Back To The Wild" book. Am taking my time reading it and really lo...

Re: We should TRAVEL TOGETHER!!

Although my plans may change, as they inevitably do, currently I'm looking at Pine-cone Burke / Vancouver area. I'm trying to get just over 2 weeks off (saved up my vacation time) and I'm planning on a trip up and down the West Coast. I live right around Los Angeles. So I'm actually gonna try to hi...

Re: We should TRAVEL TOGETHER!!

Call me an older fool.. but, I have been wanting to do what Chris did for over a year now. I'm even in the midst of planning a 2 week vacation leading up to camping out in Canada (I'm from the Los Angeles, CA area) so I can get a small taste of adventure and all that goodness. Am I just crazy? No y...

Re: - Anyone from or live in Southern California?

Or hell as I call it. Think I've been here to long. I plan to move to the midde of nowhere and be a hermit.. I can dream. Follow Chris' example and go to the Salton Sea....? From the looks of it one can be a hermit there quite easily. Actually anyone looking to see more of what that area (Salton Se...

Re: Have you been to the bus?

Dear Chris, I wish someone would have gotten to the bus sooner to find you, my friend. You deserved to live. Rest peacefully, ~Steve Salmon I suppose it wasn't unusual at that time of year that no one else would have ventured out to the bus while Chris was alive. Still, what are the odds that NO ON...

Re: The new Book

I saw a couple of reviews on Amazon criticizing the captioning of the photos Chris took that are in the "Back To The Wild" book. They feel it wrong that the writer(s) of Back To The Wild tried to "get into Chris's head" by saying what he may have been thinking, that it somehow ch...

Re: Have you been to the bus?

I wish Chris had lived too. I'd gladly trade the stories of his adventures, the book (and movie) "Into the Wild" for him to be here so that the world had never even learned about him. A life like that, someone so full of life and ideas.... it just seems so unjust (or something) that he cou...

Re: Have You Been Able To Find Books As Good as This??

Another book I enjoyed about 10 years ago was the true account of an American who rode his bike across the entire continent of Africa south to north, from Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt. He had a lot of interaction with the locals along the way, slept in a tent and faced a lot of danger if ...

Re: The new Book

I got my copy of BACK TO THE WILD in the mail today! Am really excited. Am heading out to my screened-in front porch to sit and start perusing and reading it. I say excited and yet with anything Chris-related, there is a sadness too, knowing how things ended for him, that he is not here with us toda...

Re: - Anyone from or ever been to Ireland?

I've been to Ireland twice - once alone, the second time with my mother. I intended on seeing all of Ireland, including Dublin - but just fell in love with the west of Ireland and lingered there. Dingle, Dingle Peninsula, Galway, Connemara.....
