Humans of New York

Hi All, I have started a new project called Humans of Kristiansand (Norway - where I now live) based on the concept by Brandon Stanton's Humans of New York. I really get into doing something that I think is worthwhile, informative and something a little different. So, sorry to promote it here, but I...

Interesting story about surviving 3 months in the bush

Here is an interesting story of survival. Was in the news today: If Marco Lavoie had not been rescued when he was, the Quebec man probably would have perished within 48 hours. He was hypothermic, dehydrated and near starvation in the unforgiving cold of northwestern Quebec when police rescued him We...

Re: Jon Krakauers article on the New Yorker

Hi Steve,
Sorry I didn't see your post about the New Yorker in the forum until now.
(I was a bit quick to post mine).

Ron emailed me about the article, but I see there is a link to this site on it, so that is great!
Hopefully we get some more members and papers for the site!

Cheers, Adam

Jon Krakauers article in the New Yorker

Hi All, I have been in comms with Ron Hamilton about a paper Jon Krakauer was going to publish in the New Yorker. Jon was pleased with Rons paper on my site and wanted to investigate it further to help confirm his thoughts on Chris' death. As per Rons request, I did not tell anyone about this articl...

Re: Ron Hamilton's submitted paper link

Thanks for your post.
Ron's paper is indeed one to have its own reference. When you read it you will find out why.

Re: Kids

Fredmerlin, I also think Chris would have been a great father. Carine has overcome all sorts of challenges to be a great mother and Chris would have been no exception. The other day when I was snow skiing with my boys I thought about Chris and that it is such a pity he didn't get to share that exper...

Thought this category needed to be created

After the interesting paper by Ron Hamilton, the documentary by Ron Lamothe and of course Krakaeur's Book, thought this category should be created.....

Kids

I have been involved in this story for a long time now. What I tend to think about is kids when Chris pops into my head. All I can say is that if you have kids, respect them. What I mean by respect is that they will remember EVERYTHING you say to them. If you tell them off or give a compliment to th...

Great new article by Ron Hamilton on Chris' death

Hi All,

Here you can read a great article written by Ron Hamilton.
It is a qualified theory on how Chris died in Alaska.
