Yes she is a real person. she did an interview w/ animal planet for the new chris documentary being released later this year. I spoke with her a number of times and she is a very nice and interesting lady.

from some pics i seen, and talking with someone who was out there in august, it's getting in worse shape. sometime between late august and mid- september the front wind shield was smashed out.

from what i remember in the book, his parents told him he could be of more help[to causes he saw fit to help] with an education under his belt than w/out one.
also, i think it was his philosophy class that got him in a different mind set. or rather propelled him towards one.

Last time I inquired about it, I found out no one has it and it's lost. But there's always a chance someone has it and doesn't realize what it is.
