They are 5 lbs and can be rolled up to the size of a bread loaf. New Alpacka (brand name) rafts are rather expensive, ...

On the issue of the accuracy of the dates in the book, pardon me for not having my copy handy to check (I mailed it back to AK with some other belongings) but didn't they specifically say something about that matter in the book. If I'm remembering correctly, there is a place where they mention the f...

You make a lot of interesting points here... but one thing you said really seems like a stretch. I'm just going on what I was told. I'm not going to try and defend it as I would have no way of knowing for certain. All I will say is that I'm positive my source was un-measurably closer to Chris than any roommate. Perhaps there was some kind of misunderstanding.

Re: Notes from Chris' siblings

I think that's the question I'm most curious about. How could you not invite the input of the person who was closest to him in life, and yet caption every photo with Chris' supposed thoughts and feelings, while simultaneously obscuring the very motives he had to make such a drastic change in his life?

Re: Magic Bus Trip 2012

late May/early June seems to be about the earliest you can go without significant snow.

Check out this video by Julien Menier: http://vimeo.com/27588017

He went June 1-4.

I really liked the Nation Parks Series he did. It was pretty long though, I had to take it in chunks.

Re: what's your thoughts on the new DVD?

They're calling it a 'Ken Burns' style video, meaning it's just stills that move. Ken Burns does a lot of stuff with creating parallax and depth of field artificially though. It's really more like a narrated slideshow (of the photos that are in the book.)
