Re: He's not Jesus

A little off topic but interesting. There are a number of historical Messiahs with many significant parallels to Christ, particularly born of a virgin on Dec 25. Check out this list. http://paganizingfaithofyeshua.netfirms.com/parallels_chart.htm There is actually a fair body of information about th...

Re: What if the Datsun had started?...

What if? I think that was my favorite saying as a kid. I used to drive people nuts with the what ifs. We can't really know what different outcomes there might be "if" Chris had done something different at any time. I think the possibilities are infinite, but here 's one anyway. If he hadn'...

Re: Have you been to the bus?

Finally, another chapter! I am really enjoying this Steve. I pretty much feel like I've been to the bus after reading this. You put a lot into this story in more ways than one and you make it come alive with your words.

Re: IS THERE MORE TO THE CHRISTOPHER MCCANDLESS STORY???

Its a good topic. There are endless possibilities. Just because something looks so obvious doesn't mean that's how it is. I think users can go in and edit or delete their own posts. We all get caught up in the heat of things from time to time and nature has given us the ability to learn from experie...

Re: Cabins near the bus

Good enough. Forsberg's cabin is a couple miles closer to the bus than the ranger cabin. Good idea not to post the locations of private cabins I suppose, but not many would venture all the way out there based on a picture on google maps. As far as the ransacking of the cabins goes that often happens...

Re: Cabins near the bus

I'd like to locate Forsberg's cabin as well. As far as I understood, this cabin is still not marked in any map at all. So probably only someone who's been there will be able to tell you (why not Forsberg himself? ). According to Krakauer's book, it must be about 2 miles north of the range...

Cabins near the bus

Does anyone have any reference to the location of Will Forsberg's cabin on the Stamped Trail.
I have posted pics on Google Earth at the location of the ranger cabin on the Sushana and the cable tram on the Tek near the bus.
I'd like to locate Forsberg's cabin as well.

Re: McCandless and Treadwell thoughts ...

I thought the video of you crossing the river was a very good example of how I've heard is the right way to do it. I suppose if you had suddenly stepped into a deep hole and disappeared from sight he would have something to speculate about. The stick gives that 3rd point for stability and makes a hu...
