i would have thought that they felt awful! i mean they raised him and its theyre child that they created themselves i could never imagine im i had a child that he or she would just go off into the would like that

i thought he was completely insane. i mean who would do that without letting ANYONE know , i just dont get it , was he mentally messed up or just psychotic?! and then he doesnt pack barely any food and clothes . i mean he's heading to Alaska in the winter

I feel the exact same! my teacher is making us read this and im glad he did becuase it makes me realize how materialistic i am but then again it always makes me realize how thankful i am that i have this stuff just like McCandless had when he was growing up.
