Re: Death makes him relevant.

It's true that he would probably be less "famous" if he didnt die. Some people think its a tragedy but also a blessing (I dont know if thats the right word :? ) that he died because his story affected so many people in a good way. I doubt any of them are glad that he died, but they can see...

Re: What are some beautiful places to visit in America?

Pretty much all of America is beautiful, except maybe the flat parts of the Midwest. If I could go to one state though, it would probably be Colorado. Same thing with the rest of the world, its all beautiful, but I would go to the mountains in China. Some of them have a really unique look. Thats nat...

Re: Tried hitchhiking today...

I am going to attempt some hitchhiking trips this summer, in Vermont. Its considered by many people to be the safest state for it. Although I'm still nervous. The idea of getting into a random car is kind of weird. I did a little bit of hitchhiking into towns last year on the Appalachian Trail, and ...

Re: The Holy Economy

Recent research seems to indicate that the rich are less adept at reading others' emotions in comparison with uneducated and poor people. This is probably true. But I think most people, if they think about it at a young age, can become less selfish and start to change their views on society. I know...

Re: Getting reading to hitchhike the roads of Autralia.

These are my two main concerns while been out on the road food and water, Chris seemed to be able to find food and water, this Australian bloke seemed to be able to find food and water, I just don't understand how these inspiring people with no money when in remote places find food and water and su...

Re: I plan to hit the road soon need advice on backpack!!!

I would recommend looking into ultralight backpacking. Most backpacking gear will weigh between 25-50 pounds fully loaded. Having that much weight on your back is not natural and can mess up you balance, slow you down, and be stressful on your body. You could buy a set of gear that weighs under 15 p...

Re: THE MEANING WITH LIFE

I was also inspired by Into the Wild to travel, but I think part of Chris' story was not just finding you're own happiness, but helping other people too. Which is why I recommend going to college before you go on any big adventures, because it's best to go when you're young and your mind is sharp. A...

Long distance trails

To anyone interested in traveling, meeting new people, and being in nature, you should consider doing a long distance hiking trail. I know a lot of people might be kind of scared to be out on "the road" like Chris was, but this is another way to live that kind of life and it's safer. On th...

Tried hitchhiking today...

... for about 10 minutes. I was walking into town, and suddenly got the urge to try it. It was kind of weird at first, especially because I was so close to town [usually people hitchhike on highways], but I actually wanted to get picked up just for the thrill. I didnt get picked up  but I feel ...
