Re: I'm getting an into the wild tattoo, quote suggestions?

Some of my favorites; - " Not all those who wander are lost. " J.R.R. Tolkien - " To be Great is to be misunderstood. " R.W. Emerson - " Aut viam inveniam aut faciam. " (Latin: I shall either find a way, or I shall make one) Hannibal - " Rien de beau qua le vrai. &...

Re: Swiss People?

Hi globetrotter, I'm not in Swiss, but in the Netherlands(so not to far off). I'm currently busy gathering my last gear, and in the process of sketching a plan for some solid time 'into the wild'. Also, I resigned from my current job, which will be executed at the 7th of Juni; So I may finally start...

Re: are you all serious?

The more I read those typical words of Grendle, the more I realize that the world has never been in any worse state than it is today; of course you cannot understand the quest CM toke, you're analysing character and romance with science. The Liberty CM has experienced is Freedom beyond our understan...

Re: are you all serious?

Right, and the same is true for women, by the way. ;) It surely is! Be as independent, self-reliant, and thereby free, as you should have been in the first place! " I see young men, my townsmen, whose misfortune it is to have inherited farms, houses, barns, cattle, and farming tools; for these...

Re: are you all serious?

Grendle obviously does not understand Life. In life, there is no such thing as failure as long as the individual lives deliberately. Remember, the final destination for all of us is Death. To arrive there without having truly lived and facing ourselves head-on is the greatest sin. You have definite...

Re: If you could ask 3 questions...

this isnt really about chris, but oh well! 1. Jesus- what will heaven look like? Maybe I'm the only one, but I can't stop wandering why people cannot enjoy and praise the PRESENT. Why would you, in this stage, want to know how Heaven looks like? Give me one advantage when He does answer that questi...

Re: quote from the movie

I love the quote 'rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness... give me truth', which he altered from the original 'rather than love than money than fame give me truth', from Henry David Thoreau.

Re: Into the wild - dissertation

No problem man!

You might want to have access to the notes on Walden aswell; http://thoreau.eserver.org/. Most of his essays and books are readable on the above webpage, including notes and other resourceful information about Henry David Thoreau and his philosophy.

Re: Into the wild - dissertation

Hi Lene010, You have picked a great subject for your dissertation! Are you familiar with Henry David Thoreau ?, I would really advise the book Walden to you. You could also look up the book 'Education of a Wandering Man' from Louis L'Amour. But I would definitely start with Thoreau, one of Christoph...
